Preah Sihanouk Provincial Governor Calls on Fishermen and Travelers to be Vigilant

Preah Sihanouk: The governor of Preah Sihanouk Province, Mr. Kouch Chamroeun, called on fishermen and travelers to be more careful about the wind and big waves that may occur in the coming days, according to the forecast of the Ministry of Water Resources and meteorology.

Through a voice message from the Governor of Preah Sihanouk Province posted on the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration's official Facebook page on the morning of December 16, 2022, Mr. Kouch Chamroeun told the relevant authorities to monitor and spread information on weather issues to fishermen, citizens, and tourists who are traveling by boat to be aware of the wind and big waves that may occur from December 17 to 19.

The provincial governor told fishermen and tourists that, if possible, they should not travel by boat to avoid the risks posed by wind and big waves.

He said that if it is necessary to travel by sea, they should wear life jackets, and the owners of boats or ships must check and prepare safety equipment thoroughly before departing.

According to the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, from December 14–20, 2022, Cambodia will be affected by moderate to high pressure from China and northeast monsoon. These effects will cool down some areas. As for the coastal area, there will be moderate to strong winds and waves.
